ABOUT Ms. Tuski

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Meet the Teacher!

My name is Carolyn Tuski, and I am thrilled to be teaching 6th grade, and 7th/8th grade science at Bishop Kelley Catholic School.

As a BKCS alum, I feel very blessed to return to this school. I am a graduate of Aquinas College in Grand Rapids with a Bachelor of Arts in P.O.H.I. (Physical or Otherwise Health Impaired) Education. I also have a Michigan Elementary K-8 Certification, International Conductive Education Certification, and a Michigan P.O.H.I. K-12 endorsement.

My Mission

To provide students with opportunities to achieve optimal physical, cognitive, and social independence. It is with this mindset, the teachings of the Catholic Church, and my faith that I plan my lessons, teach my students, and assess their learning.

My teaching role is as a guide and mentor. Teaching material is presented in a differentiated manner in order to address all learning styles and give students the responsibility and ownership of their own learning.

"No significant learning occurs without a significant relationship."

It is my responsibility to instill a sense of wonder and inquiry, so that students will in turn explore and learn about the world around them. To create this sense of inquiry, it is an even larger personal responsibility to build and strengthen my relationship with students.

It is through these relationships that I guide my students and ensure that they become physically, cognitively, and socially independent members of society.
